I am very pleased to introduce myself as the Registered Dietitian joining Enhanced Wellness Studio (EWS). My goal with EWS is to provide quality nutrition services to help you 1) enjoy food, 2) feel great and 3) make healthy eating a sustainable part of your lives.
Growing up I had always wanted to interact and work with people, and my love of food and cooking sealed the deal. I moved from Timmins to Toronto for university to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science in Food and Nutrition from Ryerson University. I then went on to complete a 10-month Dietitians of Canada accredited internship at Grand River Hospital. I had an amazing experience in the Kitchener-Waterloo area and decided to make it my home for the last 5 years.
Since becoming a dietitian in 2013, I have worked with a variety of clients including those with diabetes, chronic kidney disease, cancer and cardiac disease. I specifically took an interest in diabetes education and in 2015 became a Certified Diabetes Educator. While my background is in nutrition for disease management, I very much enjoy working with those who are looking to make general, healthy lifestyle changes. Overall, I take a very practical approach to nutrition. I will work with you to develop goals that will result in healthful behaviours that are with you for a lifetime.
When I’m not working, I am enthralled in the world of Ultimate Frisbee – I play competitively in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, which involves regular practice and travel. I enjoy being outside (during the snow free months) and you can find me around trails or fields in the area relishing in a mixture of activities.
I very much look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
